The Royal Cambridge Fund and Woodman’s Charity administered funds by the War Office and for whom the Society investigated cases. The Women’s Section of the Legion was formed at the same time and its chief aim was to safeguard the interests of the widows, dependants and families of men and women of serving or ex-service members of H.M. forces.
